At BestContainerSales.com, an “As Is” container refers to a shipping container that has undergone inspection and been identified with significant damage. In these cases, restoring the unit to a fully Wind and Watertight (WWT) condition would be either impractical or excessively costly. These containers may exhibit various issues, such as visible holes, damaged or broken flooring, and other substantial structural problems, both internally and externally. Due to their compromised condition, we generally do not recommend “As Is” containers unless your intended application is one where absolute structural integrity and visual appearance are not critical factors. They might, for example, be suitable for scrap, extreme custom modification projects where extensive rebuilding is planned, or for very basic, temporary, and non-critical storage where exposure to elements is not a concern.
